A complete set of tender documents may be obtained from the Procurement Office upon payment of non - refundable fee of Kshs. 1,000. The documents may alternatively be viewed and downloaded for free from here. All payment should be made at the cash office in the Administration Block.

Price quotes in Kenya shillings should be inclusive of all taxes and delivery costs, and shall remain valid for a period of 120 days from the closing date of the tenders.

Duly Completed tender documents should be enclosed in plain sealed envelopes, marked with the tender number and be deposited in the tender box at respective campuses. They can also be addressed and posted to:

About the Kenya School of Government
The Kenya School of Government (KSG) is a state corporation established under an Act of Parliament. The School is located at Lower Kabete in Nairobi and has campuses in Baringo, Embu, Matuga and Mombasa. In compliance with the founding statute, the School provides learning and development programs to enhance skills, competencies, and professional ethos in the public service. The programs include training, consultancy, and policy oriented, problem solving research. The School especially aims to create a public service with the highest possible expertise to aid achievement of Kenya Vision 2030 goals.

Centers of Excellence
In order to fulfill its mandate through specialization and attention to detail the School has recently established six Centers of Excellence as shown in the Table below. The Table also provides an outline of the functions of each Centre.

1 Centre for Advanced Training and Consultancy The Centre utilizes the best tools and technologies to diagnose problems and determine cutting-edge solutions to enhance our clients’ operational efficiency, productivity, strategic objectives and effectiveness. The centres research capabilities are varied and expansive and include designing and developing various plans for implementation and review.
Centre for Public Finance The Centre for Public Finance will support capacity development in public financial management, resource mobilization, revenue and debt, allocation and utilization of resources for delivery of goods and services via public procurement, reports and accounts for funds, outputs and results, external audit for oversight/ external accountability and the institutionalization of IFMIS.
3 Centre for Leadership & Policy The Centre has been set up to explore how we can more effectively develop responsible leadership and governance in the Public Service.
4 Centre for Devolution Studies The Center will roll out activities that will facilitate better comprehension of devolution in public administration and pave the way for the uptake of appropriate interventions to improve governance standards which in turn will help to improve delivery of public services to Kenyans.
5 Centre for Public Service Values, Ethics and Integrity The Center shall carry out independent policy-oriented research, training and consultancy so as to objectively advise government on matter relating to ethical leadership, decision-making, integrity-based policy-making, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
6 Centre for Research and Advisory Services The Centre will facilitate the establishment of professional networks and think tanks to develop and grow public sector leaders.

The School seeks to hire highly qualified, competent and committed individual from among KSG staff to fill the vacant position of Head of Centre of Excellence. A successful candidate will hold the position in addition to his or her present duties for a term of two years, renewable once.
Reporting to the Director Learning and Development, the Head of Centre will be based at Lower Kabete and will coordinate an interdisciplinary and inter-Campus team to develop and deliver programs and carry out suitable activities in their respective fields of specialization, taking into account the mandate of the School as contained in the KSG Act as well as existing Government policies and priorities.

Duties and responsibilities
  • Direct the strategic and day-to-day operations of the Centre
  • Supervise staff deployed to the Centre by providing and provide leadership in development and delivery of programs
  • Liaise with government officials at both county and other stake holders to ensure relevance and appropriateness of all programs to client needs
  • Promote local and international networking, linkages and partnerships for the benefit of the School and its programs
Required Qualification
  • The Master’s Degree in a relevant discipline in the Humanities or Social Science.
  • Excellent knowledge of public sector policy issues and agenda
  • At least four years experience in capacity building for the public sector
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills;
  • Good presentation skills
  • Ability to work with teams

PROFICIENCY EXAMINATION 2016 IMPORTANT NOTICE New

"It is notified for general information that the following FIVE HUNDRED AND SIXTEEN (516) candidates passed the Proficiency Examination for Clerical Officers held from 15th to 18th August 2016. The options are indicated against their names. It is also notified for general information that the following TWO HUNDRED AND NINETY SEVEN (297) candidates failed to attain a FULL PASS in the Proficiency Examination for Clerical Officers held from 15TH to 18TH August 2016. They are required to re-sit the paper(s) shown against their names".

It is notified for general information, that the Administrative Officers' Examination will be held from Monday 21st to Friday 25th November 2016 at the following examination centres; Kenya School of Government, Embu, and Baringo Campuses.. The actual venues for each centre will be notified to the candidates after registration.

Proficiency Examination for Clerical Officers Certificates for 2015 are ready for collection at Lower Kabete during working hours. Candidates are advised to come with the National Identity Card for identification.
